Happy New Year!
This year I am vibing off the people who weren’t ready and raring to go.
I very much wasn’t. Actually I was feeling a little bit anxious. Perhaps it was all the hosting over Christmas, the realisation of how lovely it is to have two kids in that sweet spot - out of nappies, sleeping well, giving me just enough space but still needing me and the magic of Christmas. Maybe this is the first year I wasn’t so exhausted that going back to work was a A LOT easier.
Or maybe I am a little nervous. I am so excited to share that I am going to be embarking on the Goldman Sachs business growth programme in February, which means I am holding my breath a little till then. While I have basic plans, my goals revolve around starting and throwing myself into that.
I am feeling a lot better now I am in the swing of it! How are you settling in?? Throw me a message anytime to let me know how you have felt launching into the New Year!

Points of Business: Who cares about new year’s resolutions?
I have never been one for resolutions - my husband mentions dry January and I roll my eyes. Good for you if you’re doing it, but it just isn’t me🥂
I think I have just always known, that for me, creating a lasting change is not about big grand gestures on an arbitrary calendar date dictating a 'New Year, New You' or your 'Best Year Yet'.
At the same time, January is a month I hold close to my heart. To be really honest, it’s when I changed my life 3 years ago.
A year on from a life changing traumatic event, I had just stopped breastfeeding and the reality of emerging trauma, and navigating lockdown with two kids under three, had hit my nervous system - I wasn't well at all. But I was stuck.
I needed to work, I needed my business to start paying me. I needed to be there for my kids. Everyone around me thought I was ‘better’, but I was at my worst. And so were the relationships I needed to help get me through it.
Something had to change. One year on from our NICU crash landing, and after our first “normal” (see: “Covid”) Christmas, it was time. And it just so happened to be January.
So the next day, I woke up and started meditating. I did that one thing to help me. I didn't go all in with breath work, cold showers, gratitude, exercise regimes and sleep habits.
I did one thing. And then I learnt more. I listened to podcasts about habit stacking and healing my brain. Then slowly almost a year later I got the professional help I needed.
It's been 3 years of work and it continues to be work.
This consistency has really also been the key to success in my business. And why consistency is the theme of this New Year Same You email.
How am I consistent in business? (NOTE: consistent, never perfect)
Zero inbox
One To-Do list with everything on it (but I’m not a slave to)
Showing up on social media (and being realistic about what’s feasible, even with a team - shout out Steph & Rachael!)
Doing things that scare me
Collaborating and working with others - co working days, catch ups with the team
Keeping on top of the numbers - tracking sales, forecasts etc
Podcast - consistency finally paid off with our first sponsorship!
While I might not be one for grand resolutions, I’ve learnt the power of small, consistent steps taken over time. So this new year, I invite you to reflect on what small changes you can make, what habits you can really commit to, that will get you where you want to go. Whether that’s in your business, your health, whatever it is that you’re ready to change. If anything at all!
It’s not New Year New You, it’s just you, showing up for yourself, no pressure, no perfectionism, just small steps.
Is consistency one of your words for the year? Let me know in the comments how you’re going to bring it in for 2025.

I called a team member. On a Sunday. While they were on Annual Leave. Over Christmas. 🤦♀️ In my defence, she has the same name as my sister!

A reminder to not get too caught up in the ‘January madness’. If you want to make changes, go for it, but make it manageable. Chances are, you’ve already got a lot on your plate. And have a wonderful 2025!
